Manipulate these to eliminate p.

Start by 'putting the pieces together' - so take parts of the equation like x^2 and then create that from your coordinates. Then y^2, add them, etc.

They give you the answer in the question. When they do this, you are permitted to substitute to prove that your parametric coordinates satisfy the Cartesian equation.
