Sad about HSC Marks.. (3 Viewers)

Well one in particular, i worked so hard for Studies of Religion II hoping for a Ban 5... i got Ban 5-6's during my assessment mark period, and out of nowhere, my assessment mark is 67..., examination mark 70... HSC mark 69.. a ban 3..

Haha not really, All Ban 4's besides that, SOR should've easily Been Ban 5 or high ban 4, and as well as English.. Grrrr

assessment marks mean NOTHING
l just realised that yesterday. l got overconfident and thought my assessment marks would bring my hsc mark up, but l did crap in the internals, and got a crap hsc mark for my subjects.
the teachers really should tell you that your assessment marks mean jack squat and you and your class need to work their assess off for the externals.

im in same situation but different subjects, got all band 4s (75+) then band 3 for ecos but I put that on myself unfortuately... there goes my 80 ATAR dream :L

a band 4 in most subjects scales them down drastically. just look at english standard, general maths and engineering studies.
there are a few courses that are pretty constant b4 scalers, like physics, chem and 2 unit maths.

l got all low band 5's in my subjects and the atar calculator says l'll get 86. so it is possible to get 80 if you get high b4's... depends on which subjects you are doing.

an e3/34 in an extension subject scales you up like hell :/

Gahh, got to hate some schools for giving false expectations for some students.... That said, it might just mean you need to do a re-check of your marks - if you are confident that you should have scored higher.

talent 100 and matrix atar calculators.
the einstein one is kinda stuffed up lol

not well well but not bad, if you got a mid band 5 onwards for music 2 it shouldn't be that bad, and maybe <75 for music extension might drag you down
