what happens if i come last in ext 1 maths with a assessment mark of around 50 - 60 but in the external exam is score a mark from 90 - 100 and the rest of my class scores around there as well. what do u think routhly my final mark (HSC Mark) would be?

If you came last in a particular subject, you will receive the lowest HSC exam mark as your moderated assessment mark. So in your example, if everyone scored 90-100 in their HSC exam, then the same still applies. You receive the lowest HSC exam mark as your assessment mark, which in this case would be 90, even though your assessment mark at school was 50-60.

That's an example that the marks you receive at school have no meaning except to rank students and show the relative differences between them in terms of marks.
