an HSC mark of 79 was approx. equivalent to a scaled mark of 65.064 in 2002

There is unfortuantely no way of knowing what it will scale to this year, until results come out in December

sorry to jump in

"an HSC mark of 79 was approx. equivalent to a scaled mark of 65.064 in 2002"

how can this be? i was under the impression that if u do fairly well in english advanced you get scaled up not down.

btw where do you get that information from? as in general so i can have a look at some of my other subjects.

Yes, I belive Minai is right. I used the UAISeeker, which you should use as well to test it.

Scaling allows the marks from subjects to be compared with one another. The UAC does this and the scaling is typically downwards with the exception of some extension subjects.

But try not to worry too much. You never get to see your scaled marks.

To further wat Ragerunner said, yes, good scaling means a subject isnt scaled down badly, and bad scaling means a subject is scaled down a lot. Only in a few subjects and in certain mark ranges does the scaled mark increase over the reported aligned mark
