there were scalpers selling tickets at the bdo gates last year, and everyone was walking past like hurling abuse and yelling fuck you and spitting on them and stuff, it was pretty lolworthy.

I love seeing that shit so much. The best bit is you can tell they're only there because people on ebay fucked with them, so in a last-ditch effort to offload the tickets, they show up to be ridiculed and abused.

My most favourite of those was the scalpers trying to offload tickets the year the BDO released extras/magically found unsold stashes on the day, so you've got dickheads trying to offload them between the turnstyles at the station, and the ticket booth near the entrance. Good times, especially with the police wandering along asking them what they're up to. Good times.

PS: Alan, I can't quite tell what you're driving at. You're either setting up a ridiculous scenario and in doing so demonstrating the plainly obvious, or talking absolute shit. Either way, you have done little to enrich my life with that post.

Provide a valid rebuttal to my argument or you STFU.
You can't rebut your argument because it has nothing to do with the original question, you're just saying why they're so expensive and then provide a way to "fix" the problem.
Dan's already pointed out why scalping is so awful

scalping doesnt bother me.

they waited in line for an item.

they bought the item.

they can do whatever the fuck they want with it. they can burn it if they want. maybe start www.burnmybdoticket.com

who gives a shit if they never intended to go to the concert.

its similar to the people that waited in line for the ps3 then sold it for profit.

people willing to pay 5x the price of the tickets are idiots too.

and also its not like they're guaranteed profit. they run the risk of not being able to sell them......and getting fucked.

and like dan said its breaching the conditions. but its obvious ebay dont give a shit.

but they're fixing it with the whole ticket is matched to the credit card that bought them thing that they have at some concerts now. so that stops scalping.

i can see why scalping can be annoying.........especially when you miss out on concerts because of it. but really.......i dont find a problem with it. if i miss out on a concert its usually my own fault.

but yeah.....i just dont understand why you cant sell something you bought for profit.

I think it is fine to scalp tickets because there is a risk for the scalpers and people who really want to see the show will pay to see it

i compare scalpers to people who download their music. scalpers exploit their fans to gain profit and people who download music exploit the artist by getting their music for free, support the music world, don't use it to gain profit.

Which in turn is a lot like child pornography, because those people are exploiting children.

Perfect analogy. Absolutely flawless, you are destined for great things.

um not really, because its not like people who download music burn it onto cds and then go out and sell them for $50 to people who can't buy the cd anywhere else. dickhead.

ok for the illiterate people here..

scenario 1. the scalper takes advantage of fans by making a profit. they are denying true fans the rights to see their favourite artists live.

scenario 2. the person who downloads the music is denying the artist of their money which they rightfully deserve.

i can't see whats so hard about that to understand. the relation between the two is pretty distinct.

Fixed it for you.

I think it's rather telling that no one agrees with you. We do understand what you're saying and we think it's wrong.
