What is the real weighting upon the school mark =S?
some say that if, like me, "failed" trials, that i should really study for HSC
because it is acutally weighted more than the school based ..is it true =P? cz i really wish it was =X

School based assessment: 50% of your final HSC Mark.

You should probably study for the HSC exams even if you go well in your trials. <_<

Depends on your school but say one of your trial papers had a 30% weighting for whatever subject, that paper would contribute 30% of your school assessment mark (which makes up 50% of your overall HSC) for that subject.

So, using the amazing powers of math, it can be deduced that your 30% paper will contribute to 15% of your total HSC mark. Compare that to the 50% TOTAL that the HSC exams give I'd say that "failing" the trials does has some effect but not as drastic as some would make it out to be...
