It's funny how you never have a lable for your own group ...

i dunnoo..for all i care in our grade were the "us" group, the "common room" group and the ..well, the nerds. and you're part of the nerds i think mclake. but it's all good. as long as you're not the mindless sheep of the common room crowd.

Hm... in the younger years it was
*Day girls
*Boarders

but the end of yr 12 the lines had blurred... we didnt really have labels for our year they were sorta just.. you know that group with blah blah blah in it? I think cause we had our commo and courtyard, everyone sorta became friends with everyone else...

well we pretty much had:

* the surfies/skaters
* everyone else (incl. me), which had subgroups who were all freinds with each other, except for the odd drama/bitchfight:
- the nerdy types
- the arty types
- the muso types
- the sporty types (intersected with surfie group)
- and a bunch of other ppl who don't really fit in any of those exclusively

i was a combination of nerdy/arty, i suppose...
our year was only 80-something big, so we didn't get that many subgroups. no ethnic groups either (wogs, azns, etc), which is sorta odd...

*the geeks/nerds
*the wogs
*the asians
*the northies (ppl who live up north)
*the southies (ppl who live down south)
*the jocks (which included northies and southies)
and last but not leased,
*the stoners

Talking about majority groups?

side 1:
- mandarin-speaking chinese boys & girls.
- jock-hybrid asians
- musos + nerds + computer freak (me) asians and westerners.
- the rest of the asian girls

side 2:
- jocks
- populars
- the rest of the nerds
- jocks

neutral:
- some non-asian people who used to be in side 1.

well, side 2 thinks side 1 people are antisocials :). It's damn hard to see the other side, because we don't hang around close enough. we even deliberately evaded speaking to them. Meh, side 1 hogs the total highest marks. :)

the 3unit and 4unit maths class, almost 90% side 1. Why am I so game-influenced?

i have a question: what do you call "westies" (i.e. bogans) that live in perth or the west coast?

"easties" just doesn't sound right.

hmmm... i suppose bogans is a good non-geographic term.

Well, westies for those of us in "The Shire" are anyone west of the river, but I guess it should be anyone west of sydney (don't ask me to clarify this, I can't ...)

I could confirm that if I knew which river you're talking about...

In the big 'common' group there are sub-groups that really overlap... there are also some people that sort of fall between the nerd/common...
...aristocrats [english]... [maths people don't get together.]
...mainstream asian...
...sporty people... as usual...
...most just divide themselves without much definition...
These pgroups are never called that though. :p

we had nerds in every stereotype and there wasnt just a group of nerds. most of the nerds were in the trenchcoat mafia because they where allways hacking into the schools computers and everyone was afraid that they would one day go on a murderous rampage
