james ruse
sydney boys
sydney girls
sydney grammar

test first week back from holidays

wondering what rank you guys got in the last chemistry test out of 671 people

well i attend pal college and my prinicpal has made an agreement with the other schools to compete in a few subjects. e.g maths, chem, physics and a few others. its really interesting being ranked upon the top schools of nsw.

where's baulkam hills and north sydney girls then ..

well i'm not too familiar with the north shor schools but if your school is selective annd has sydney boys or sydney girls then you guys are probably competing with some other schools. first week back.

whats the point of competing, honestly...shouldnt the focus be on encouraging the students to do well as opposed to pressuring them by saying they have to beat another school? heck they're all really smart schools, they'd do well regardless.

What's the point in the UAI, then?

That is actually a valid question. The UAI system is not perfect; far from it. It is not a terrible system, but it is not working effectively when the media and teachers hype it up.

i dont think we (sbhs) hav the same exams as the other schools.
i mean, our exams hav like our schools motto and emblem and teacher's names and everything on the front. i heard some past exams even had our teachers' names in some of the questions, e.g.

mr. harvey and mr.bennett ran X km in Y hours, etc (physics)

(ppl in sbhs would realise why thats funny)
