2^21 for me, i do quite a few computer subjects, so it helped out a little haha
1024kb = 1 mb 1024mb= 1GB .... 2GB * 1024 * 1024 = 2 ^ 21

2^ 20 = 1048576
1024 x 1024 (from kb to GB)= 1048576

So im assuming its 2^20

Seems like a lot of people are putting A instead of D for question 16. I went D, as having an 8/31 chance of rain on the first day, and it raining doesn't diminish the opportunity for there to still be an 8/31 chance of rain the second day, as there is an 8/31 AVERAGE, not 8 days in that particular month raining. Thoughts?

It was similar to a lot of the probablity questions I practised.

If there is an 8/31 chance of it raining in October you have to adjust for it. If it rains one day (8/31) then there are 30 days left and one rainy day has already passed so it becomes 7/30.

But who knows, Math is one of those subjects where the little mistakes you make kill ya and the answers aren't always as clear as they same.

It was 2^21 not 2^20 if I'm correct.
And the probability question was DEFINITELY 8/31 x 7/30
If it is going to rain 8 times expected in October and it does on day one, there is now 7 expected days of rain in the remaining 30. Hence 8/31 x 7/30

I just heard from someone else in my class that our teacher, who is also the Head Teacher of maths at our school said it was 8/31 x 8/31. I think it's 8/31 x 8/31, because I take it as the probability of it raining on any given day in October is 8/31, with the second day additioanlly having an 8/31 chance of rain. From what I see, the problem with your reasoning is that you're assuming that there has to be a total of 8 rainy days in October, when the question is simply giving an average number of days in October it rains, and therefore the probability of it raining on one particular day, which is 8/31, no matter what day it is, and what previously occured in that month. I hope I'm making sense here :p

The question said 'consecutive days' however.

Yeah. Day 1 has an 8/31 chance. Day 2 also has an 8/31 chance. Any day in October, no matter what has come before it has an 8/31 chance. Therefore it's 8/31 * 8/31
