GOVT2445 - American Politics and Foreign Policy
ECOP2011 - Economic Foundation of Modern Capitalism
GOVT 2445 is an absolutley excellent choice I loved that course so much. Be prepared to work your arse off in ECOP 2011, its hard - be prepared to work your butt off, many Eco.Soc.Sci students say its the hardest unit of study you'll do in your time at uni.

These sound rather interesting... I don't know if I could bring myself to do an ECOP subject, I heard they're stacks skewed (politically, that is).
Yes, they are rather left leaning. Never having written anything right inclined, I can't comment on whether the marking is biased - apparently it is, but I wouldn't know.

Re: Semester 2 Chatter Thread

atm I think Im going to do

Semester 1:

-SCLG2601 Sociological Theory
-SCLG2604/5 (Advanced) Social Inequality/Law-sociology unit
-HSTY2629/59 Sex and Scandal/Nationalism
-HSTY2619 Australia to 1888

Semester 2
-SCLG2602 Social Inquiry and Research
-SCLG2616/2615 (Advanced) Globalisation/Law-sociology unit
-HSTY2691 (Advanced) Writing History
-HSTY2656 American Civil War

I'd like to get Economic and Social Foundations of Capitalism in there...but it doesn't really end up working with getting to 6 advanced units. Hopefully I can do them third year.

Semester 1:
ENGL 2640 Shakespeare
ENGL 2653 Varieties of English Grammar
EDSE 3040 Teaching History 1
EDSE 3044 Teaching English 1

Semester 2:
EDSE 3058 Teaching History 2
EDSE 3062 Teaching English 2
EDSE 3072 Craft Knowledge and Prof Practices 2
EDSE 3073 Professional Experience A
EDUF 3031 Positive Approaches to Special Education

Stupid course requirements. The one subject I've wanted to do since I started at USyd is in Semester 2, and I have to do all my education shite then. Bloody bloody.

Who gives a shit about special education. Apparently it's just 12 weeks of saying "Include everyone" without any practical examples. What a waste of time. I could be doing a unit on Fantasy. :(

In some areas you have restrictions of a max of 30CP per semester and 54CP per year without special permission. So you can only overload in one semester unless you can be fucked to go get permission.

Isn't it also true that it's basically a given you will overload if you want to do double majors?
