I read your review on 1019. It was kinda surprising, because the general feeling from everyone today was that Dr. Stevie rocked!

EDSE2001: Craft Knowledge and Professional Practice 1
A seven-week course that talks about what makes an effective teacher (in real terms, not in theoretical ones), what motivates people to become teachers, how to reflect upon your own teacher experiences, etc. At least after the first two lectures that's kind of what I thought it was about.
Oh, right, as in the craft of education. I thought it was training you to become an arts and crafts teacher or something.

Re: OFFICIAL Semester 2, 2007 Thread

Got an email from my current history lecturer today saying that some WebCT sites may not be up until next week due to a backlog at the eLearning department. Am I missing something? What's so difficult about putting them up once the course coordinators have designed them?

OMG. I hate how 10% of the marks in the PHIL1010 course is now set aside for tutorial attendance & participation instead of an essay plan. Attendance I can do. Participation I cannot. :(

ITA. ANHS1005 has 20% tute participation, which is insane.

Also, what's with all the lecturers in junior courses going crazy about 2000-word essays this semester? Last semester I only had one essay that long, this semester I have three.

I've had at least one lecture for each of my subjects now.

World of Fantasy is awesome.

Craft Knowledge is the first Education subject that is not only useful but thoroughly enjoyable.

Literature and Politics was filled with socialists, but looks really interesting.

Language, Texts and Time has Ruby (lol)

You'd think I had a perfect semester...

If only I could get rid of EDUF2007 it would be. I never thought I'd say this, but come back Dr Juan (from EDUF1019)! All is forgiven, even your rant about why the will of the collective is more important than the freedom of the individual! I'd rather have your classes all over again than this smarmy, posturing git who spent the entire lecture ragging on everything the Federal Government has done, claiming the SMH is the only decent newspaper, and basically telling us in not so many words that this entire course is going to be a useless, politically correct waste of space.

Oh well, 4 out of 5 isn't bad.
what on earth is world of fantasy about? sounds interesting.

(For example, though you don't do history, there's a lecturer called Lyn Olson who I adore, and a lot of people thought she was a bit boring.)
who doesn't like lyn? she great and gave me great marks. that other chick for middle ages was crapola though

as for this sem, psych's seem better than last sem, mainly cause of no stats and less neuro/chem stuff. HPSC looks easy and interesting, if a bit slow explaining phil to all the hard science kiddies. maths is maths and i can probably skip the lectures again this sem, nothing too hard there. peace and conflict studies is the only thing i haven't had yet but the prep readings have been nice so far

really? i kind of thought he was a bit...i dunno, like he was trying really hard to be funny and engaging but just failed. he kept taking forever to get to the point of each thing he was saying.

i have marge again for the seminars...she's bleached her hair or something.

I also have ol Margarita again. She seems cool. She told us a real depressing story bout a kid whose mum hung herself.

And yes, Dr. Stevie does try to be funny an engaging (although I thought he was both). Loved the costume too.
