that sucks gordo! what school? it would actually be to the shools benefit to give a longer lunch, because the students will have an increased concentration span.

reddam house in bondi.
also, we have double periods for everything,
i.e when ever we have a subject it goes for 2 periods, except extn 2 maths and english and extn history

but for my physics, modern, extn 1 maths, and english, its always double clocks of 2 hours

it takes alot out of you
i fall asleep every night before 10
which means i never get homework done.

however i guess the good thing is free's are always as doubles too, so they are very productive in regards to work effiency / completion

Dude, that must be illegal or something because you have a 6 and a half hour day and you only get 43 minutes in breaks. I'd go to the Independent Schools Association about that one...I'm assuming your school is private...

Rose Bay eh? I have a friend who goes to Kincoppal, what do you guys think of them???

you have way too much school time as well. do you get extra holidays? because you have approx 6 1hr subjects, so that's 6hrs of work, most of us have about 5hrs

Well in a workplace, if you work for 6 hours you are given a half hour break. So I don't spose this arrangement is too bad.

that sucks!

on mondays and fridays, our lunch was 1:05 - 2:00 (or 2:05)
tuesdays it was 12:20 - 1 (depending on what time you had to get to sport if you're not in yr12)
wednesdays & thurs it was 1:20 - 2:00

and recess is around 20 - 25 mins.

we had double periods for everything too, ie only four periods max a day (unless you had a triple in the morning).

for woolworths:
4hrs- no break
5hrs- 15 mins
6hrs- half hour (half hour unpaid)
6.5-7.5- half hour + 15 minute (half hour unpaid)
8-9 hours- 1 hour + 15 minutes (1 hour unpaid)

i know at big w they get a 15 minute break for 4 hours as well as 5 hrs.. which is kinda lame because at woolies we do more work than them (as in scan heaps of items per customer, have to remember codes etc)

I think I read in an article once than schools are allowed to give only half-hour breaks, but not many schools do because of health reasons. I'm pretty sure 45 minutes is legal.

Ouch.

We were comparitively relaxed. Five 1hr periods each day, except for a fortnightly 'Early Day' (8:20-1:50 rather than 8:20-2:50), or three periods on Thursdays for us seniors. Not bad.
