Should I do a PR degree? (1 Viewer)

I am interested in working in PR, I am just curious, is it an incredibly hard field to get into? Is it worth doing a PR degree? Is it better to do a double degree with PR and something else? Would love all insights into this career

Australian Universities don't really offer a PR degree. It is typically a major for a communications or media degree.

It's a different field to break into so might be useful to do a double degree with a more employable major alongside it like information systems.

What attracts you to PR? What interests you about it?

Keep in mind that alot of people who work in PR don't necessarily have degrees in it- but in fields such as English lit, Sociology, Information Systems, Journalism, Psychology, etc.

Also: PR is a very 'who you know' field so expect many internships, social media followings, etc. That's personally my idea of hell, but it might up your alley. Do more research, look at google results. PR degrees are very specific, so it's best to go in fully informed.
