Alright so I am currently doing 2U Maths in year 11. At the moment we're doing co-ordinate geometry which I suck at. The first term was extremely good and easy cause most of the work was year 10 algebra. But when we came to functions, range, graphs, I seriously hate it. I extremely suck at it and every maths lesson I don't do anything and hope it ends. Also the 2U homework takes up most of my study time at home. Should I drop to general? I think i'll be better off but I need your recommendations guys :(

If you plan to do Accounting (via a B Business or a B Commerce) I believe you will need a 2U Maths at least.

i heard in Accounting you only really need to do simple arithmetic or at worst, solve for something using algebra

Well I would stick at it for a little while longer because you might find that the functions topic is the only one you 'really hate'. Why not have a look in your textbook and see if any exercises look semi-enjoyable to you. If you still continue to hate it, and you can't see any reason why you should keep it (such as uni prerequisite) then drop and preferably the sooner the better.

I know of a student who just missed 90 in his 2U Maths last year. He is doing Commerce at UNSW. I have been asked to provide help with his Statistics. Also don't forget - you need a modicum of maths for your Economics as well.

ooohh yes; that's right stats. But isn't that only for eco? and wouldn't the data analysis in general maths be more "applicable" here?

I think you will need much more than the data analysis in General.

I think it would be beneficial for you to stay in 2U if you plan to go to uni. HSC gives kids the impression that higher level maths isn't important for most subjects, when in reality a lot/most university courses will apply 2/3U maths quite often. They won't alter the course to compensate for kids who did general maths like the HSC does.

It's a good staring block; and you go to university to learn more. But yes I see that doing 2/3/4U would be "better" in the sense that you will need those critical problem solving skills

yes i also agree. I know 2 people in engineering that did "not-relevant" subjects (like VA and gen maths) and both are struggling pretty bad.
