Drop it. I was in a similar predicament as you. I was doing well in all of my subjects, including Maths. However, it wasn't my strongest subject and I was simply just putting no effort into it whatsoever. I knew it wasn't going to count to my ATAR. I ended up speaking to my Senior Year Advisor who advised me to drop it as it'll allow me to focus on my other 5 subjects, all of which I am doing good in, but can now do even better in them as I'll have more time to focus on them.
At the end of the day the way you're putting it is that it won't count to your ATAR, so really, what is the point? Especially considering it won't be relevant to what you want to do in University.
Everyone telling you not to drop it is probably azn so like, they're all good at Maths and haven't been in your shoes. They're all just natural at Maths.
