So I'm literally coming dead last in society and culture after half yearlies. Should I drop it so that I can focus on other subjects?

Just drop things that you don't like, or even better, drop the subjects that you dislike the most.

Most likely the ones that you hate the most are the subjects where you get the least marks.

Drop it if you believe that it will very likely pay off to get rid of it

If you hate Society and Culture then drop.

12 units is useful for back up but keeping this is not a back up as you are last so you will be just wasting your time as it most likely won't be counted in your best 10 units. So drop it.

drop. no need keeping a subject that you won't likely count even if it is backup.

100%, I dropped society & culture a couple of weeks ago (I was coming third though and it was my best ranking subject) but I really wasn't motivated to keep doing it and I needed to free up time that I otherwise would have spent doing the PIP.
