lets give everyone who dies , saint status , or very noble awards etc etc. it seems like thats what is happeneing.

No one is perfect but you have to remember that the catholic church is a worlwide body. Countries in the 3rd world are not as liberal as western countries like Australia. There is extremely little support for the advancement of women in countries like Nigeria.

The Pope was a great man who opened inter-faith dialogue and believed stongly in peace and love. Your point about AIDS is a valid one although I think the Pope's views in condoms are almost universally ignored. It is only exteremly religious people like Tony Abbott who play the vatican roulette. Look at the birth rate in Italy...
