white australians who are complaining that australia isnt a white country are stuck up coz the modern day version of this country is built on immigration and multiculturalism, white people arent even native to this country lol

white australians who want australia to be white basically want the white australia policy to be reinstated, and for australia to be an anglo-saxon country when in reality this has never been a white country until colonial times. we cant go back on the colonisation of australia and obviously the damage has been done there, however its really silly to want to destroy how we have managed to create a pretty peaceful multicultural country and havent just turned this island into britain 2. ong i dont know why these people have such an issue with this

there are plenty of arguments that "immigration & multiculturalism" are both pretty bad for australia especially given its economic configuration

the modern version of this country is built on immigration:
1. convicts were the first "immigrants", they were basically the ones to first establish the colony and its infrastructure
2. when the gold rush hit, the only reason the australian population expanded was because of immigrants

• basically made australia a burgeoning wealthy country in the eyes of the world
• many of these immigrants were chinese - not white

3. after ww2 a bunch of displaced european people immigrated to australia, these people were often the labourers who kept australia's manufacturing and hard labor force above the water
4. now in current era, 30% of the population is immigrants who are providing skilled work that is basically filling in shortages in australia (if i recall correctly, this was a big reason why we had a lot of issues with different industries having a lack of staff when we shut the borders in covid)

in terms of multiculturalism, it cannot be denied that australia is one of the most multicultural countries in the world, we have huge chunks of population from different asian and european countries, and melbourne is literally the country with the most people who speak greek outside of greece... so clearly we have multiple cultures who all live together, aka we are a multicultural country

meaningless to talk about migration "building australia's manufacturing sector" when australia has no fucking manufacturing sector anymore, and what manufacturing sector it had was extremely noncompetitive globally and existed due to tariffs and artificial trade barriers (i.e holden, which produced shit fucking cars and existed only due it having a captive consumer base)

nearly all industry of any importance in australia today besides building houses for immigrants to live in is the primary sector, which is a fixed resource endowment, i.e adding more people does not, beyond a certain point, increase inputs, because there is only so much that can be extracted at a given time; adding more people to a country which derives so much of its material wealth from a fixed resource endowment actually ends up making that country poorer, because you have to sub-divide the existing resources, the supply of which never grows, by the number of people you add. effectively population growth makes australians worse off on a per person basis

where did you hear this high school shit? do you know anyone who still works in a factory anymore in australia making absolutely anything? virtually all 'industry' is either construction (which is a nearly entirely artificially driven demand created by migration) and primary resources/agriculture, which additional people beyond a certain marginal level does fuck all to benefit

Because Australia is an open and free society people are allowed to express unpopular / controversial views. So long as that doesn't extend to conduct that is threatening or causes harm to others, individuals are free to believe and espouse views with which others disagree. This view may be as sensible / reasonable as the Earth is flat, the Moon landings were faked, and HSC Maths shouldn't be a compulsory subject, but neither ignorance nor stupidity is a crime.
