What the title says, since Ext. 1 is obviously harder I just wanted to know if you should treat it differently to 2U when studying, and what I mean by treating differently as taking a different study approach to it than in 2U.

Just past papers mate.

I did 2u assessments and didn't even study. Laugh at 2u.

More work? I study basically the same way. For all maths, doing past papers is the best way to revise for the HSC.

Well you must take into account that 2 unit has alot more content than extension 1, (2 units v 1 unit). I say put more effort into your weaker areas and still do a bit of study on the topics you are strong in. As has been said, past papers is the best study for the hsc once you know the theory well.

Do all the homework the teacher sets. It's good background knowledge.

I'd say put about equal work into 2 Unit and 3 Unit. Even though they count as 2 and 1 units, Ext 1 is harder.

Yeah I did the mistake of just concentrating on extension and not Mathematics...but as the other guys said you have to work equal amounts...and maybe sometimes a bit more on extension.

I sorta consider them as two totally different subjects.

Since when have you guys started doing past papers?!? I haven't done a single hsc for maths yet, ive just been working out of cambridge-->still got binomial and probability to go.
How many past hsc's do you people plan on getting done before the real thing?

the day before my 3u trial i did the CSSA for 2003-2007, so for hsc im just going to do as many as i can get my hands on for every subject. And try to do them in an hour and a half so thet you know you'll have extra time. for 2u, even though im not doing it anymore, just make sure you know the main concepts behind things and you know all the formulas and whatever... and do loads of past papers :D

I think 2 unit is more about tedious number crunching whereas Extension 1 is more about proofs and problem solving. One thing I really don't like about 2 unit is those convoluted plane geometry questions (circle geometry is way better imo! lol).

I don't really like 2 unit, that's why I did Extension 2 :p!!!lol
