Because sin^2 x is equivalent to (sinx)^2, you'll need to input (sinx) then the y^x key, then whichever power you want. :)

there is no 'sin x' as a such on the calculator.

only sin

If you want sin^2 30

You would put in the calculator: (sin 30)^2

Calculators can't do algebra. (atleast not mine)

If you don't have sin on your calculator, you might want to upgrade to a scientific one.

then for a GP, how would you find the common ratio of, lets say:

sin^3x, sin^7x, sin^9x

a common ratio here probably doesnt exist as i just made the question but how would you find it if theres a x?

Hold up.

Is it sin3x, or is it sin(3x)
Simply fixed.

If x=20 degrees.

sin3x= (sin 20)3

sin 3x=sin (3. 20)=sin(60)

There is no common ratio between them.
But say for example a sequence such as :
sin^2 x, sin^3 x, sin^4 x.

The common ratio would be sin^3 x / sin^2 x.
Which is just:

(sinx)(sinx)(sinx)/(sinx)(sinx)

Canceling the common factor, we see the ratio is sinx
