i can't recommend a good one, though i can tell you to stay away from enigma. It's really effective. It takes control of your whole computer and asks for permission or blocks everything you try to do. SOOOO frustrating!!!

I've only been using it for about a week but Zone Alarm has been good so far. It's free too.

Just get it off norton antivirus... its pretty good, for $99 u get protection from everyhting, worms, trojans, adware, spyware u get firewalls, full system scans etc... its pretty good

Ah, hahah, I changed from ZA -> Kerio because ZoneAlarm gave me alot of problems :\

i have a PC acting as an internet server is it enuff to install firewall on it or should i install on all connected pc's?

It depends on what kind of gateway you have and either it is well configured. A gateway acting as a firewall (usually) is good enough to stop things from coming in, but it won't stop rouge programs on individual computers getting out.

what do u mean by gateway?

I have a comp sharing internet connection to a few other comps what sort of gateway is that?

"Gateway" is just a generic name for something that interfaces the outside world with your network - could be a computer, a router, whatever.

So it would depend on what software your Internet sharing computer is running to do the job.

I would recommend ZA on all computers.

ZA is better than Norton and is free.
