but for those assess questions its kinda hard to include the word in there.
Doesn't have to be in your sentence or answer, write it in the column, next to it. A bit like you do with Aim, Method etc.

Eg, in the circular motion question 18 last year.

A clear assessment would be:
The statement is false because:

An implied assement would be:
There is a net force acting on the car because

Sometimes they will accept the second but always, but if you have clearly said this part of your statement is the assessment then it will be accepeted.

The first way is still best, but in the rush at the end, little things can help if your paper is one of the last being marked. The marker will see the word assessment or criteria and that will stick in their mind.

so serge, do u underline key words when writing out an response?
lol, i plan to, but keep forgetting
I usually only do it for 5-7 markers

oh i see. so its like you write out ur supporting argument and when u write ur evalution u put assess next to the sentence in the column.

how about for evalutation ones?

nah, scanner's at a friends place and ive only done chem examples
more worried about that than phys right now (curse you shipwrecks!)

ship wrecks? that chem

but physics is scary. it requires insane amount of BSing skills

yeh, its hard to logically and succinctly BS the markers without
contradicting yourself.
(Some stuff is pretty straightforward though)

Not here but an example for 2004, Q19:

Assessment The statement is false because:
Reasons
The net force is not zero as it is changing direction and accelerating
Friction doesn't balance the centripetal force, the friction supplies the centripetal force.
Mathematical Support:Fnet=Fc=mv2/r

etc

I am just guessing but I think the tendency to applying will stay.
I think there will be a long mark on Einstein based around either photoelectric or more likely relativity. This is based on this year being the International Year of Physics because of Einstein.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do what has happened in Biology, that is questions are arranged to reduce marking time as that is a problem BOS has had with the new HSC.
Also based on last years and biology, practicals will be also based on recalling a practical but also having to justify or explain your experiment.

There will be one long skills question based on an experiment.
They won't make the mistake again, that a student can rote learn an equation for a one of example and gain 4 marks. While people who know their physics have to go through a series of steps.

I also think they will do what they did last year in the Westinghouse question of putting you in a situation, so you have to write your answer in a particular way, so you can't just rewrite basic facts.

If you get a look at this years biology paper, the first 3 or 4 wriiten answers required you to answer within a table. I'll have a better idea, if this is in all sciences after the chemistry test on Wednesday.
Unless someone can check or post an Earth and Environmental or Senior Science paper. It is interesting to see some trends go across science papers each year.

The first long question last year was 4 marks for recalling the range formula on level ground and substituting.
R=u2sin2theta/g

Otherwise, you had to go through the steps of separating into compnents, find time of flight and then range.

Skills question, I mean like 26 last year and 16 in 02 and 03.

lol, did some ppl remeber that eqn for the projectile motion q. Thats stupid to me, y wud u remeber an extra eqn when the eqns are on the sheet. LOL :)

Quite a lot and it was a give me 4 marks. Often it is the weaker students, so they can at least pick up a mark for range, when they can't do the breaking up into components.
There is a similar one for time of flight but I can't recall either.

Max height = v²sin²@/2g

Aah, 3 unit maths.

...

This is also why it is unlikely to be asked to name an Australian scientist but it is possible they will ask you about how you went about this.
Actually, they could well ask about two Australian scientists, namely, the Braggs :p

hey helper,

can u post up some applying questions similar to the ones in last years hsc.

thnx

PS. For the Back emf q, how many ppl would have answered that correctly, i suppose not many would have

I heard that this didn't help much in 3U this year as the ground wasn't level.

Now that is debatable but why shouldn't we claim them like Phar Lap.

I should have said practicising.
