Why would someone with a PhD want to work in a mall business anyway? If they were looking to be employed, they would be targeting somewhere that needs their expertise (NASA for example).Originally posted by tooheyz
yeah that it so true. smaller businesses will be hesitant to employ ppl with masters or whatever. maybe coz they cant afford it, or they are over qualified...
imo anyway.
So Lexicographer? You can be the smart one if you answer this question.Originally posted by natstar
So is a Phd and a docterate different. Which is higher? My next door neighbour does lectures at UNSW and she has a docterate and she is classed as a Dr.
i dunno- but i guess ppl. just do it for fun. for eg. the chairman of telstra (the ziggy guy)- he's got a phd in nuclear physics, yet he's a chairman. LoLOriginally posted by Minai
Why would you do a PhD unless you wanted to become a professor?

and whats the deal with classifications of honours.....? like eg. first class honours?????/
well they are courses that u do bfore the uni. starts. they are done bcoz a course might have a prerequsite for certain hsc subjects, and if u haven't done them- then u gotta do the bridging courses- i hope u understand what i mean. LoLOriginally posted by lee^ar

People transfer to other Universities because they might move or want to attend a more "prestigious" University.Originally posted by lee^ar
and why you sometimes need to transfer to other universities?
That is explained in this thread.Originally posted by lee^ar
also i heard that if you could not achieve the required UAI for a certain course, you could do some other course and then transfer into the course you couldn't get into. how does this work?
