i think it's depressing!! it's all about rain and some chick who will be loved, not is loved.

I tend to think of it from the other side, the guy has also been there as a friend and of course loves her secretyl but she can't see it.
He would do anything for her (e.g. standing in the pouring rain) and he only just wants her to see how much he cares about her.
It's a song for both sexes!
