At least this wanna be jihadist is off the street:

"A Sydney court has heard previously that five of the rocket launchers ended up in the hands of a Sydney-based terrorist suspect, through an accused arms dealer, but have never been found despite an intensive search by NSW and federal police."

Its funny how someone from the ADF whose job it is to protect Australians sold these RPGs to a "Sydney-based terrorist suspect".

They seems to have financial motive more than anything else. I thought soldiers are paid quite well here. In Russia soldiers are paid $10 a month and are forced to be gay prostitute and pornstars according to UN.

The M72s are imported by the Department of Defence and then stored by civil contractors. When they are used they are withdrawn from the civil contractor and used by the Defence Force. It is my understanding that the recovered LAW (lightweight anti-tank weapons) was allegedly stolen before it was issued to the Defence Force."

Much of the confusion arose because NSW police kept describing the rocket launchers as "army weapons".

The rules under which the civil contractor has to store the weapons are set and monitored by the Department of Defence. But since the storage depots were privatised under the Hawke-Keating government, the storage has not been a Defence Force responsibility. And that's what is pissing off the Defence Force: because they keep getting blamed for something that would not appear to be their fault.
