STAT exam (1 Viewer)

Whats the main purpose of this ?

I read it in the UAC guide but still wasn't sure.

Like who are the people who want to take this exam ?

Well Uni of Western Sydney has a program to give students in poorer areas (basically west sydney) a chance to increase their uais by up to 10 points but they have to do a STAT to determine how much they actually get.

Also, other unis like Sydney and those further away use it to help select students into courses. e.g if you want to do B Pharmacy you need a uai of 94+ plus a STAT result of 149+/200

Has anyone done it? is it hard? what sort of things do they ask?

yeh i did the multiple choice one a few months ago.
they mostly ask IQ type questions.
For example, theres a picture and you're asked to choose the correct tone or meaning.
Or questions like if Ed is taller than Elle and Elle is taller than Mary then which of these statements are correct.

The STAT is much easier than the stupid UMAT! ARGHH

really?? sweet can I use the STAT to get into any Uni other than UWS?

the one for UWS is more known as RET...yeah so i was getting confused abt STAT being for uws and syd uni...r they same or different?

I think the RET is just both versions of the STAT (written and multiple).

really confusing to called in stat i juz say RET test
coz the sydney uni' pharmacy is called the STAT test as well..

basically the ret test is "back up" if you uai didnt make the cut off, but however has in be in a range of smaller then 10 mark down..

I saw the test too at skool it so HARD!!
