Hydrolysis of sucrose:
C12H22O11( ) + H2O(l) --> 2C6H12O6(aq)

What is the state of sucrose? I'm confused because water and the enzyme 'sucrase' is added to molasses to begin the process of hydrolysis so would it be aqueous instead of solid?

I would believe that the state of sucrose would be aqueous.

Depends on where u get it from (like the sugar cubes/crystals are solids, while other in nature through natural formation would be aq)
