nah i didn't apply for any trading positions. applications only just opened right?

i've accepted that PDN will be more and more volatile in these sorts of conditions. just between the low and high today, there's 4 or 5% profit.

but you're right, no idea what will happen tomorrow. Those people who bought it at 9+ on the first drop obviously thought they found themselves a bargain. probably the same people who bailed out at 7.50

sold my index trades for $5 profit lol. Just glad to get out of them. Market is quite volatile and hard to trade for newbies like me, but you can pick bargains and if you are good trade the movements and make a decent green.

I hear the markets will crash next week? But it was from a crappy source.

omnidragon: well pdn is a 10% margin stock on cfds, so with a 5% movement today, you can 1.5times your money if you are lucky.

Anyone hedging with short positions with a view that the market will correct properly in coming weeks? Market has gained a lot of what it lost so far.

Just got this then:

Paladin Resources Exec Garnet Halliday Dies In Plane Crash

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

Paladin Resources Ltd. (PDN.T) announced the death of Garnet Halliday, executive general manager of operations and development, following a plane crash in Malawi.

Paladin said Garnet, 50, has been with the company since 2004 and was leading its development team in preparing for the construction of the Kayelekera mine in Malawi.

The company also said the pilot of the light aircraft, Frank van-Veuren, was also killed in the crash. Van-Veuren was principal of Executive Air Charter. There were no other people on the plane.

Paladin said it will seek an investigation into the crash.

Paladin is an Australian mining company.

lol @ you newbs. it sounds like a bunch of bet yas and told yas. 20/20 hindsight's quite common these days. it's funny trading only becomes a talking point here when it hits headlines. where were you bosers during the real bull run? i suppose too busy ramping up your cadetships.
dun worry, you provide nice liquidity for the smart money. :uhhuh:

if you really are in the market, like you say you are, hope you all have balls for the sideways volatility coming cos you're gonna need it gambling on PDN gaps. bargains you say? good luck trying to pick a bottom. dead cat bounce newbs?

poker vs. markets... thats the funniest thing ive heard. poker is merely a secluded form of entertainment. it does not depend upon global events, or any event outside the table for that matter, nor does the sentiment of one table's participants affect the other tables'. Just the market depth of one volatile security alone - involving potentially thousands of differing amounts of wealth, power, opinions and influence - has got more personality than a poker game of a handful of people. it really tests those who are bluffing, and those with the real balls of steel - jobs, pensions, futures are on the line. psychology is king. you can stay an utter idiot in a poker game, be in the black, still opt to fold and go home happy ... if you're stay an utter idiot in the markets then it will spit you and your life out onto the streets.
anyone become a billionaire playing poker? nuff said.

The stock market is nothing more than a casino.

So called traders are nothing more than gamblers.

Hang on to your Hull text books only because you may need to sell it to pay off your margin calls........

Although at this stage all communications with the company suggest the
commissioning/ramp up remain on schedule."

frinkinator...

what you said was nothing new: dead cat bouncing, volatility, due for second correction soon. i'm sure everyone who trades would have been reading, hearing and talking about these things a lot in the pass week. i can definitely quote chunks of texts (much lengthier than your 2 cents) from sites, newspapers, forums etc about these things.

my point? you haven't trumped anyone (be it velox, newbie or me) with your lack of originality. so don't burst your blood vessel laughing too hard, just in case you thought you've won some internet argument

anyway...

i still like paladin: still bullish forecasts for uranium of slightly $100+ from places like reuters and most banks. recent namibia contract a surprise. takeover play interesting. rudd's policy should be a bonus

lottox: paladin's always been kind... i knew a friend in at $1.70 and in at summit at $0.70 (i think it was nov or dec 2005). i guess at this stage it'll never hurt the capital, but just a q of how much more

hehe well duh mate, looks like im not the only one who reads the fin review. however i can admit i can't quote chunks of texts like you.

lol good for you. If you desperately view that i'm trying to 'trump' people with my elite market mumbo jumbo jargon, well then I'd have to ask whose bursting their vessels over who knows what, on some puny teenybopper forum like this.
what i'm hearing from you is: "but but but .... but I read the papers too!!!!11!!! and the broker reports!!!11!! and the guru on tv!!!!! if I quote them I must appear like I know the markets!"..... hilarious really. but again, I guess you and cohort do quality for guru status on here... there's hardly even any who would know a stock from a stick.

my point? your "omgz PDN jumped 5% just today i coulda made tonnes" or "im kicking myself for not getting in on these bargains!!!!" or "shit lets go short to make money out of this correction!!!" hardly counts for crap except for 20/20 hindsight and your reliance upon fundamental analysis or "news" alone demonstrates you are/or have potential to be like every other shmoe feeding the smart money.

eg,
"i still like paladin: still bullish forecasts for uranium of slightly $100+ from places like reuters and most banks. recent namibia contract a surprise. takeover play interesting. rudd's policy should be a bonus"
wow mate you can read newspapers and magazines and i especially love how you guys quote broker analysis. but thats about it. news thats already hit the majority media sources is fools news. your "i can quote chunks!!!" just cracks me up. youd make a great journalist for fin review.

to be with the smart money you have to technically analyse, which will give you a snapshot on what the market feels at the instant, and what their expectations are. whats most important - what the traders/investors think - is shown in the psychology of the price and market depth. if you get a feel of how she works then you've got an edge over many. couple that with rigid risk management, and you might make some green.

look ive got nothing to prove here. it's just very funny to watch how you 'talk stock' with your bos peeps on the sidelines. dont mind me. please continue.

Cheers.

ahhh but alas, i'm even too poor for the mailroom job. it's ok for you though - trading index cfds must make you feel real tough. hope you multiplied your money with all that leverage, if "you're lucky" that is.:)

yes real tough, considering the most you can loose is 200 on a really bad day per contract.

You must feel pretty tough waving your dick around here to the children who play with stocks and quote broker research.

Hey Frinkinator,

then I'd have to ask whose bursting their vessels over who knows what, on some puny teenybopper forum like this
I'd just like to point out that you frequent this forum too....if you think you're better than everyone else here (as you clearly seem to) why don't you just go back to whatever it is you do that causes you to have this massive superiority complex. And by the way, based on your overly aggressive attitude and often woeful spelling and grammar, this superiority complex is very, very misguided.

Angry, angry young man

well given the bland nature of fanboi members and mostly "pro-audit" attitude of this forum, i thought it needed a little spice. if labelling me a troll makes you feel better then by all means. If my point of view is contrary to everyone elses here, does that mean I can't post? not that I'm tooting my own horn, but PM wise, a lot of others here herald what I say. in the end, I really don't care about what everyone else thinks. If anything, going by what you say I'm damaging my own 'BoS reputation' by being 'arrogant' - So I don't see what you're so worried about. you can take comfort in numbers.
Personally I think what I say is a little different compared to what the fantasied Bcom fanbois post on the topics I like. If you don't like it go count some beans.

lol well do you think judging me, and my perceived tone over the internet mind you, puts you in position to judge? Just because I choose not to use capital letters at times, i'm now officially arrogant AND dumb?. i'm really surprised at the anality of some people. you say I'm angry, but actually I get a lot of entertainment from those like you.

thats terrific mr goldman analyst. but sadly your generator knows squat about human behaviour and market anomalies. I personally stick the quotes from the business paper on the wall and chuck darts at them to choose. risk management -"cutting losses and letting profits run" is the key to the money.

Cheers

i think there are more moderate ways to express your opinion.
theres no need to be a wanker if your arguments are convincing enough, unless of course being a wanker is the point of your posts.
