i need some info on the significance and symbolism of the storm. If anyone has info post it up

Symbolism of Storm
Shows the similarities of the physical storm that is raging outside, and the mental "storm" that shows the disorder and chaos that is occuring in King Lear's mind.

Significance - the consequence of turning his back to shelter ... which also adds to the fact that King Lear's mental state is in chaos where he rejects further shelter that Kent and teh fool try to persuade King lear to go into.

well, that's just my interpretation. don't take my word on it.

also, and more importantly, it shows Lear's powerlessness against the fierce natural powers. He like all other mankind is insignificant compared to the storm. His title of King means nothing. etc

It can also be seen as a representation of King Lear's rejection of his "divine power."

I still think the "storm raging outside shows us what we can't see inside" approach is the way to go, but it all depends on your reading...
