ATTN: FIRST YEAR STUDENTS

First Year consists of the following 4 units:
200327 Mathematics for Engineers 1
300027 Engineering Computing
300461 Engineering and Industrial Design Practice
300464 Physics and Materials

The School has identified 14 streams of study which reflect the most optimal choice for students in terms of timetabling (least amount of clashes) and resources (spaces in rooms / labs / available equipment etc). You can determine which stream suits you by looking at a table via link ( to be advised ) – then you can make your choices on PWeb for tutorial registration. Once you have chosen a stream you wish to follow, you simply need to select either a tutorial or practical for that stream (ie. ‘Selection for Stream 1, 2, 3, …., 14) as per your preference. Please register for the same stream for as many of the above 4 units you are enrolled in.
whats with these streams? do we have to take one of them? and what with the units at the top?

from the link provided the stream looks like what practical and tutorial you choose

stream 2 and 7 will not be open in tut rego unless the other streams fill up

therefore practical + tutorial = stream

you select one of them which is most applicable to your timetable

the units at the top are units which are taken in either first or second semester

the stream is the time you pick to do your combined practical and tutorial because they are combined.

by the looks of it you pick one tutorial, one practical, one stream (which is the combined lesson), and the lecture
