It may not be...just something I heard, thought someone might know...not that Microsoft would admit it anyway.

Vista is nothing to get excited about. I have Vista and I'd much prefer XP.
It does have some nifty features but using it takes a while to get used to.
I also find it to be not as stable as XP but ah well... my fault for not waiting until a later version.

yeah, vista sucks. I havent personally tried it, but the people i know who have it, dont like it that much, and they all say that it needs some getting used to, as you just said :) it aint that extravagant really :\

They're selling a tonne because many people buy pre-built systems, and these come with Vista pre-installed. They're hardly getting millions of people going "oh please, I want Vista, I'll pay anything, give it to me"

but compatibility is much of a concern, and bit spec hungry
