Margins of error aren't that bad. A kind of triangulation method would work. As a simplified example:

person A believes they got 92-96 / 120
person B believes they got 96-100 / 120

Say bboth person A and person B end up with 90. From that you can make a reasonably accurate assumption that 96 was the band 6 cutoff.

Once you collect all the data I think you will get within the cutoffs +- 1 mark. Good idea :)
thanks!

yep, u got the idea, thats exactly how it will work, nice explanation by the way. Also, if we get more marks within that same range it'll be more accurate, and of course the marks submitted are estimates, so they're not 100% accurate, therefore the more data collected the more the range can be narrowed down!...Its a simple process really...we just need more predictions!...

By the way if u guys are reading this and dont want to post up ur predictions at this stage then do as Captain Pi suggested, once the exam marks come out, perhaps u may post ur results + predictions then!?

thank u for all the predictions so far, just dont forget to edit once the HSC results come out!
