Anyone find it impossible too study for SDD?

Its so fucking generic, my other subjects are so specific as too what they want, I look at hte syllabus dot points of SDD and answers appear in my head, i got 4/39 last year by not studying half yearly, yet Chem & BS is so much 'more'

My maths half yearly is worth 30% ! Thats insane considering most my exams are ~15%

yeah cause it's worth 20% of your overall mark!!! i'm terrified of the trials

i guess the same principle can be applied to the exams themself- 1 bad performance and yr mark in that subject is down the shitter only 50% worth. :(

The high weightings for trials are fair imo, coz they're generally marked out of 100 (or for 2U maths 120), in which case each mark lost isn't really worth much "overall".
One thing I do hate though is when teachers give you an assessment marked out of 20, and it's worth 20%!! - every mark you lose is literally one mark lost overall...which sucks like hell.

I like Chemistry coz of the syllabus - it's probably one of the easier subjects to study for (along with the other sciences). The hardest part is probably applying skills to "unfamiliar" questions...that's when you really need to know your work well.

Ours are term 2 week 8+

Argh and they have to squeeze in the economics syllabus before it so they get it covered in the exams =/

I'm not relying on it to eat so i think concentrating on studying without distractions is the main problem! =)
That's the earliest I've ever heard of trials being planned for - what's the point though?
A trial is meant to emulate the HSC exam as closely as possible...you can't do that properly if:
a) students haven't learnt the content at all
b) work has been rushed through

What school is this??
