Yeah me too! last minute 11th hour all nighter is how i go, unless it's a huge subject, then it's like 2 nights...i've never had a timetable in my life, and with hsc coming up, i may make a list of stuff to do in a week, but nothing like '2 hours english', i'm a free spirit. Besides i think i'm at the point where if i;m determined to succeed, then i just kinda understand instinctively what and when to study coz i know my strengths and weaknesses...or i feel guilty...either way its effective for me

pfft study time table....my sister got 98 uai and didnt even have one.....you dont need a study time table you only need to think logically about what subject areas you are doing bad in and study for them......just write notes on each topic and do past papers and time your self on them or something.....

Anytime I got except school and work, which leaves me like an hour a day, or two if I'm lucky. Makes it really hard to have a social life outside school, so the internet and mobile phone is a saviour.

Woo...that is so me...I even went to the stage of creating a timetable, but it didnt work...I sit there, look at whats in front of me then there is something that grabs my attention...the tiniest of things distract me.
If I am attempting English study, I may read one sentence from a text and then see somewhere Ive highlighted on the page, and that makes me pick up the nearest highlighter and I begin to draw all over the page...even going through a text in English, this happens...cant be good lol.

I dont use Study timetables. Not flexible enough.

I do things as they come. 11th Hour cramming for me.

For example in the last 4 hours, i just learnt the entire Legal studies course and wrote up 2 essays for my options. All that for my Trial tommorow. I will then forget about legal as soon as that done, and learn the entire Ancient course on Wednesday before doing the Trial on Thursday. I didnt start studying till the weekend before trials.

But hey i still get good marks.....imagine if i actually did study some more :p

I haven't got any sort of study timetable and I still seem to be doing reasonably well. I think that as long as you work really well in class and pay attention to what your doing and that then it really just comes down to how well you can regurgitate all that in an exam.
Half the time I tell myself I'll study I end up sitting at the computer making a study timetable that I know I'll never stick to....

I don't have a study timetable where I have exact times to which I must stick. Instead, at the beginning of the week I make a list of things I want to acheive that week (Like write notes for the first two parts of the chemistry syllabus, or do 1 english past paper). Depending on my mood, I'll sometimes plan what I want to do from that list every day, but sometimes I just do it systematically, going down the list and finishing 1/6 of the work every day.
I find this better as I suck at estimating how long something will take me to do, and I get stressed out if I can't complete something in the time I've allowed myself, and I won't start a new thing if I finish it before the time I guessed I would because well, it's like an excuse to have an unneccessary break.

For my trials I used a study plan lasting throughout the 2 weeks, did around 10 hrs for each of my 6 subjects, except religion where I did around 4

But in regards to general study like weeks before exams and such, I usually study a good 2 hrs each weeknight and bits and pieces on weekends

Hope that helps, I find A timetable, if strictly adhered to, helps alleviate the guilt of taking a break.

I would definitely recommend going and speaking to your subject coordinator or careers advisor; or for that matter any teacher you feel comfortable speaking with and asking them to give you a hand writing one! :uhhuh:

havent done any work in two weeks (ie after trials) but i will start tomoz. During the trials i didnt study the night before exams, just relaxed and built up my confidence.

However, before exams, i went hardcore, weekdays (friday is an exception), i take 2 hour stints and 1 hour on a subject ie
5.00-6.00 Study (depends if i have something on in the arvos, i may do work from 3-5)
6.00-7.00 Study (diff sub)
7.00-8.00 Dinner
8.00 9.00 Study
9.00-10.00 Study
10.00-11.00 study (if im up to it)

Weekends i'll do 8/9 hours if hardocre depending if there is anything one during the day/night. But seeing as there is always something to do during the weekends i try to fit in 6 hours during the morning and early arvo.

I do 2 hour chunks, then alternate subjects, I used to do pure days on 1 subject, I didn't mind it for chemistry, but other subjects i hated doing it
