A space probe is in orbit around a newly discovered planet at a distance of 10000km above the panets surface.
The planets diametre is measred as being 14000km and the mass of the planet is found to be 1.2 x 10^25

What is the value of gravitational acceleration in the space probes orbit

i cant get the right answer?

i used g=GM/r^2

what was the answer?

i got about 1.4 m/s

which doesnt seem right

i tried it again, with radius 7000km and i got about 2.77 m/s

r
= (radius of planet + altitude) in metres
= (0.5*14000,000 + 10000,000)

the units in most, if not all, formulae are:
metre
kilogram
second

you're using the right formula, are you sure that your putting in everything right?
Like halving the diameter etc?
