I'd recommend doing advanced English in yr 11. If you find the going too tough you can drop back to standard but you must do so before the beginning of yr 12 so before term 4 2007. The benefits are: An average mark in advanced is better than a pretty good mark in standard so a 65% in advanced is kinda like a 85 in standard. also if you drop back to standard you have had a year of rigourous study to help teach you the key concepts like poetic techniques. Finally in an advanced class your time isn't being wasted by drop kicks who are only there because they can't get a job and quit school.
At our school, Penrith High (selective), we have to do English Edvance in Year 11. Many people are doing extension too.

Love it. :D Are you a fan too?

Oh, God, you're better than I am then! I got like, 40% in my exam. It was too hard for my simple brain.

Haha yeah I used to watch it, it was all so cool and savvy :)... but now it's at 10.30 or something on friday I think, and I don't really have the time... I like idol though, simple as it is..

Mmm well at my school half the latin course is a prepared translation, where you know that the test will be on a passage that you've already done, so you could basically rote learn everything if you wanted to... in fact we've got our yearlies on (last week of term!) atm, and I'm studying that right now..

i hadn't intended to keep drama after year 10, but i had to choose between it and textiles and after considering the workload in year 12...i wasn't too keen.

im excited to start the preliminary course...so sick of geo and science and pdhpe...gah, kill me.

Hi, my first post, although I am in SA.

I will be taking:
Physics
Chemistry
Pure maths
Specialist maths (worried about this, as will have to di it through open access).
Advanced English
Legal Studies
Modern Histrory

Maths is waht worries me, as that is my weak point, I get A's in all subjects but maths, where I'm a C studnet, so specialist maths might be a kunundrum, lol.

As for career paths, something in the humanities maybe?????
