er yeah i think so. I've heard some people tend to do the entire 2 unit Maths course as an accelerated program in yrs 10-11. There could be more who accelerate in history, science or social science courses.

Don't have to be in an accelerated school to accelerate a subject.

Usually the school has a program for those who are accelerated, so you would ask the teacher that is usually involved in those programs. If not, then ask the head of curriculum or the head teacher of a subject about it.

Usually acceleration is done to remove subject/s from their year 12 workload, so that they have more time to focus on their other units. It also allows them to take on extra units for years 11 and 12, and grants access to the Distinction Courses, provided that you do well in the accelerated course.

Generally most people don't get to accelerate non-accelerateable subjects, because duh! they're non-accelerateable.
