It's probably too late but I'd like some opinions anyway. I wish to pursue a career in IT. There's a VET course offered at my school but that would mean I have to change from Modern History which I relatively want to keep. Is it worth it?

Also, I do extension english but I suck majorly at it. Would it be worth my while to change it? Or is there a benefit in keeping it?

Is the VET course Information Technology Frameworks (cert II)? If so, I'd probably stay away from it, especially if it means dropping a subject you like.

If you're interested in IT, the best way to start is to learn by doing, on your own. This only works if you're really interested in it, though.

Then maybe you can pursue it after the HSC.

If you can't see yourself getting reasonable marks in extension english, why keep it, unless you really enjoy it?
