Gday, I have a question.

what is the bigest contributor of SO2?

on HSC online it says:

"Most sulfur dioxide (SO2) released into the atmosphere comes from the burning of such coal or oil"

But in conquring chem it says:

"About two-thirds of the sulfur dioxide released to the atosphere worldwide comes from sources such as geothermal hot springs and volcanoes."

link to HSC online.

Im just wondering what is the answer??????

thanks :)

you have to know both either way. Natural and industrial

But i reckon more comes from industrial from smelting of ores. i don't think they will ask you which contributes more to sulfur dioxide

in conq chem i think you'll find your quote is the biggest 'natural' source. It also say about burning ores and something else i can't remember. as rage runner said, you need to know both
