Synthesis as in mixing the texts up heaps rather than presenting them in separate blocks
Don't worry, i dont think synthesis is as crucial in extension as it seemed to be for AoS, etc

- Try to mix your Core texts with additional reading.
- Try to show links between the different styles of criminal, detective, etc.
- Try to contrast the sub-genres, and te way in which subversion works.

yeah, i tend to go for a text by text basis (easier to do, and my notes are done more justice that way) and make some analytical synthesising comments in the conclusion, and in little mini paragraphs in between.

my teacher said that it doesn't really matter, but if you can synthesise, of course you will look better than someone who doesn't. also particularly say for texts n ways of thinking (individual and society) you can block off your boxes into the paradigms (economic, philosophical, religious, scientific etc etc)
