Get a 3.5mm stereo to stereo plug, plug your cassette player to your computer's line in, get a recording software with no time limitation and record the sound.

on that note, how can you convert VHS to DVD
You need a video capture card, a composite to composite and an RCA to stereo plug. Use the recording software included to record the content, then use a MPEG 2 converter and burn to DVD. Make sure you have enough hard drive space to record the VHS onto your computer.

I'm aware there's hardware that can convert VHS straight to MPEG 2 in real time, but they're a bit expense and if you have a fast computer it's not really worth it.

Yes. Hook your VCR to your DVD recorder and just do a normal recording.

Thats pretty much the gist, google for some specialist software to record the line in as otherwise it'll be fairly shifty quality.

The best recording software i have ever used for this purpose used to be a free program, called Goldwave. It's now a payfor thing, but i'm sure you could find v4 on the web, or just use v5 trial.

Its a really great program. Good for what you want.
