Can someone please tell me some techniques that are used in novels? When analysing a book, do we go through every line and look for techniques like alliteration like we do for poetry? I'm working on The Lovely Bones for inner journey by the way. Please please please help!! Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys! one more question, is 'The Lovely Bones' actually good to use as a related text for inner journey? am I on the right track? coz i talked to my friend about that today and she was like, it sounds more like an imaginative journey as Susie's speaking to us from Heaven. I don't know, I'm really confused and STRESSED coz the assessment is coming up next week. Please reply a.s.a.p. coz if it's not relevant, i'll pick another novel right away.

well, do you see an inner journey in it? If yes, then it shouldnt matter what anyone else thinks. As long as you can make a clear link between the inner journey and your text, then there shouldnt be any reason as to why not it isnt.

Thanks kimmeh, I know what I should do now. :) Thanks absolution* for the link to the list of different techniques. People in this forum are super duper helpful and I really appreciate that!
