yep.
im usually pretty good, but i found the questions were just lame. all my good knowledge i didnt even get to use :(

tell me peeps
what did you get for the recycling question? i said the little cotton fibres that flake off in cotton manufacture are recycled in sanitary products. but i dont know if that is necessarily the textile industry..

and what about the distribution channel? :S

i did the prop+perf last question, and i wrote down like EVERYTHING i know and felt i answered the questions well but not enough for 5 and 10 marks. anyone else feel this way?

Ahh, yes. It was a bit shitty.

Oh, and may we share MC answers? I glady will.
Oh, and how funny the answers to 123 were ABC. Is this the cryptic message from the Textiles land letting us know the exam will be easy? Or, that it will be marked easily? I'm hoping for the latter.
1. A
2. B
3. C
4. C
5. D
6. D
7. A
8. D
9. B - WTF was this? OMG! I was like, hardest MC question ever! I really couldn't decide between B and C. But B seemed the yummiest.
10. A

The question about waste material was gay. I wrote about plastic bottles and then put EcoSpun. Don't ask. It just popped in.

The distribution channels was also gay. I swear I didn't learn this. My teacher said apparently Internet will get me the mark. Wahoo!
The two factors about price sturcture were alright. They were made up though.

I liked the question on culture. We had the exact same question in a past paper we did, so no worries there. YAY! I didn't like the one about geographic loaction/resource avaliability. Lots of bullshit required there in my world.

The question on principles of dyeing killed my life! Literally. You know, it dyed my life. Oh, never mind. LOL. Many days in class, people who were dyeing scared me. Where's Karissa? Oh, she's dyeing. ARGHH!

Bed sheets? Fibre and fabric sturcture? Random. I put cotton/polyester and plain weave. Was this a trick question, or testing whether we bought and inspected our own manchester?

LMAO. Woollen thermal underwear? You'd be pleased to know I pictured a hairy, brown hairy. caveman-esque thing wearing long-john like thermals. The worst! I think I audibly laughed at that point.

I liked the question about the decorative technology to enchance visual design. Very fine.

Oh, and I chose question 15. I really liked that one. Others?

Overall, the exam was OK. Not too hard, not too easy. Just right.
LOL. OK. I'm on a high. One exam left, bitches!

lol

i found the test pretty easy, except marketing in question 11. i pretty much guaranteed a shitty mark, thankgod it was only out of 5. and wtf about distributed channels, never even heard of it.

i did question 14, mainly cos i reread the part in the textbook called "historical design development" right before the test. i just wrote about the corset being introduced, and the change from dresses to the big skirt and blouse. it seemed to work in well at the time, i hope the markers agree

how did everyone go in their major work in comparison to the test?
what do you think will be marked better for you?

Ahh, I'll be lucky if I get a 3/5 for the dyeing question.

I never really liked lingerie or Akira. I never really got the marks when I answered the question. As my teacher says, especially for the contemporary designers; it's very fairy flossy. And I agree.
Oh, and to bloomers, I definatley feel the same about question 15. But hey, it was better than question 14! LOL.

Ahh, I think. Umm... compared to my MTP, they'd kinda be equal. Maybe I did better in my MTP. Yeah. I think that's my answer.
You can never know, really, can you?

And WOW! I'm really proud we're seeing some good, few, new faces on here. Jump onto the '2007 Mtp Forum' and if you can, post up your MTPs along with a little description. We'd love to see them all!

Omg this exam....I am so scared about what I wrote for Q14 - i stared at both questions and was like aaahhhh fuck what the hell....for culture I had done the kimono and obi so i used it in q14 as well.....I really really....... really hope it bloody fit in with what it asked. I either got the full 14 marks or none at all. Joy. I even managed to work in my designer (Akira) into it as well briefly. I CANT BELIEVE THEY DIDNT ASK A DESIGNER QUESTION I AM SO BUMMED.

My teacher said that alot of the time if you can justify what you wrote then it'll still probably be marked correct even if it might be obscure.

For the MC I was pretty happy about and I got the same as what someone had previously posted ^^

I was happy with the culture question cause we had done the exact same questions once for an assesment task. The marketting questions...I wrote alot just to onvercompensate just cause I had no idea what to do (kinda). For distibution channels I wrote chain stores in shopping centres....right? For the waste/new textile part I wrote about fabric scraps being made into washable webs/cleaning cloths, im pretty sure thats right. The principles of dyeing....sigh....I have them in a sheet that I only read once this morning..I hope I wrote all the points down...

What else was there? Oh the thermal underwear stuff...lol....just lol.

LMAO.
I so get what you're saying about the obscure answers getting marks. I hope I'll get lucky.

YAY! Go us! I hope they're right. If someone else can confirm/deny, that would be nice!

overall pretty good. I'm a little bummed about one of the multiple choice though-- I put roller printing and it was digital imaging... also, I friggin' forgot to put a fabric structure for the sheet ><... I said staple spun, high twist yarn made of poly-cotton... and I didn't f-ing write a fabric structure!!!.... Principles of dyeing was great--- pretty much drummed into my head :p... Overall I studied about 3 and a half hours in total because I had ancient history 3 days before and bio the day before. Hope I did alright. Textiles is abit of a bullshit subject I think. I chose the textile technology question.... although I think I may have written the wrong question number >< ><... Luckily I wrote the area on the front of my writing booklet. I did CAD and CAM. I also spoke about specialised dye vats for cold pad patch dyeing and other machinery utilised to cut down on resource and energy usage.

I think I did OK overall.... maybe a 45??....maybe a 40.. :(....

Definately did better in my major project :p...

Yeah bro, distribution channels? What?!
I just put "department store", hoping that might cover a lot of bases.

MC:
1. A
2. B
3. C
4. C
5. D
6. D
7. A
8. D
9. B
10. A

I liked all the questions, except I kinda now regret doing 14 instead of 15, I think I could've done 15 better.

Did anyone else finish with half an hour to go...!?

yeh i thought there would be adesigner in there for sure!
the multiple choice was pretty easy i think...

i HATED the thermal underwear...no idea how i went there.

i did question 15 with CAD and CAM and the advantages and disadvantages including to the consumer, manufacture, employee etc...dunno if thats wat the markers where looking for.

& i agree with the OBSCURE ANSWERS, my teacher says if you can accurately justify why you chose that then you will get the marks for that.
well hope that helps evryone.
well jus have to see wat happens now.

yay one exam left! :)

I didnt wnat to waste the tiem so i jsut kept writting with the hope that i cna snag as many marks as possible. I dont think i did well at all! for (a) I said the changing corsets in history and the shillette does anyone know if that was acctually right for the question? i have a feelign i went off on a tangent. In part (b) i just kept sayign how we leanr form history and have a large variety of choice, trends do influence but society is acceting to whatever you choose to wear. agian i think i missed the mark.

Uhh, just hearing about question 14 makes me cringe. I passionatley hate those questions.

Also, I'm pretty sure, gathering from my MC and another poster's, that those are right. If anyone has any objections, please share.
Is everyone sure about question 9 in MC being (B) or Digital? I really did put screen at first.
Thank goodness!

For MC i got the same answers as everybody else.. except for Question 9:
"A geometric graphic using six colours has been designed to be reproduced onto 500 fabric banners.

Which type of printing procedure will give the quickest, most accurate, and most cost-effective result?"

a) Block
b) Digital
c) Roller
d) Screen

I put c) roller... i wasnt quite sure but i knew that it was a fairly quick process used in mass productions..?

any ideas?

I liked question 15, but from what i hear on this forum maybe i didnt write enough for it.

lanies i did c too, i was concidering screen too but i wasnt 100% with either. I was against digital because it isn't very cost effective and that was one of the rerequisites. then again screen might be more accurate.

the more i think abotu it it was quite a fair test i just didnt study enough.

i thought it was a really good exam, however question 14 threw me off cause we were only taught one hist development, but the prop & perf question was really good. i nearly laughed when i saw the first question of multi choice, pretty easy lol
