Ok, this is for people who want to get into uni and are applying to UAC soon. How soon? I don't know. I think we get the forms in a few weeks

Anyway, list the nine courses you are planning to write down

I can't really list mine because the majority of them will be "???"
I have no idea how I'm going to fill 9 preferences

something which i wish i had known earilier before panicing to put in all my 9 perferences last year before the due date is that you can always change it completely after UAI is released

Uhhh hmmm. I used to be very certain of what I wanted to do. Now I have no clue. I think uhhh...B.Science...uhm...or Med Science...hahaha but I have to be realistic: I don't study very hard, I'm not going to get the UAI for that. And where do I want to go? Anywhere in Sydney that'll take me. Hahaha. Uhhh maybe I should go study...

Economics course, if I was to do law it would be law/commerce, but economics degree would suit me fine

But does that mean because you are later than others to place that particular course as ur preference, you'll be disadvantaged if there are limited positions available? ie. Perhaps you won't be accepted?

yey how exciting i think i wrote up my 9 preferences a month or two ago on a sheet of paper somewhere. preference #1: BA in communications (social inquiry) with international studies @ UTS !!!!!

It certainly doesn't matter when you finalise your preferences. I was swapping and changing mine for weeks before the deadline, it makes no difference.

It's like an assignment due at 2pm.. it doesn't matter whether you hand it in a week earlier or at 1:59pm on the due date, it will still be marked equally.

Wow.. bad analogy, my apologies.

Just to reiterate what others have said in this thread:

1. Make sure you put down something, ANYTHING, before the due date. I don't care what, pick the first course in the UAC guide if you want.

2. You can change at anytime up until a deadline (I don't know what that is, but it is bound to be in your UAC guide, or on the UAC website).

3. There is no cost involved in changing your preference PROVIDED YOU FOLLOW STEP 1.

(yeh ive got no hope for a uai above 90 cuz im averaging like 80s.. but i want to do something in education or social work hopefully)
