Compared to most other mecha series, Gundam is definitely worth getting. And no, each series could be different as they could be placed in different eras/worlds. Howevre, there are 5 separate eras (that I know of) and that is:

- Universal Century (The Mobile Suit Gundam series that started the Gundam fan-dom which includes sequels such as: 08th MS Team, Gundam 0080. Gundam 0083, Zeta Gundam, Char's Counterattack and Gundam F91)
- Future Century (G Gundam)
- After War (Gundam X; not a major era though)
- After Colony (Gundam Wing, Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz)
- Cosmic Era (Gundam SEED, Gundam SEED Destiny)

And theres alot of side-stories with it too... like E.X.A.M and other stuff I can't think on top of my head... you could check out other gundam sites if you want though...

(This is not 100% accurate though so if a gundam maniac comes here and corrects me, do so in a orderly manner. [Sorry, past experience with Gundam Maniacs... :\])

Well, I got interested in Gundam during 1999 when Gundam Wing was aired on Cartoon Network so you could start anywhere, as long you don't start from a sequel like SEED Destiny or you won't understand certain parts to the series.

Like most action animes especially Gundam, expect ALOT of Script Immunity.

Heh, 'She, the Ultimate'. I'm just borrowing that from a friend and the plot seemed interestign. As soon as I watch it, I'll give some feedback to ya, funniboi. And oh, by the way... who's that in your av? (I think she sings, right?) And Elfen Lied review, school got into the way. :\
