Indeed. I've recently been checking out the actual session tapes from the recording studio. Roadhouse blues takes produced some absolutely rippin' versions of that song before they finally settled it. It's really quite surprising how different the takes sound. It seems they only had the riff settled before they started, and it's incredibly flexible and suited to improvisation. Got to admit that my love for The Doors increased after I heard the takes.
