*opens slsk*

not that i know much about caribou except for andorra being a really good record, but wasn't it his other albums which were supposed to be more electronic...because andorra sounds a lot like indie pop

i'd also reccommend:

Cornelius - Point; Sensuous (which have got heaps of listening to from me this past week)
Ricardo Villalobos - i only have the album thé au harem d'archimède but it's really good
Audion - Suckfish (got this during my microhouse phase which i go through occasionally)
Dave Clarke - Archive One
Tim Hecker - Harmony In Ultraviolet
Autechre - Tri Repetae++
Steve Reich - Music For 18 Musicians (not exactly right for this topic but it sure seems like electronic music)
Jan Jelinek - Kosmischer Pitch
Kraftwerk (of course) - The Man Machine is my favourite

um, could you say what you think are the best albums on your list, or the ones i should start off with first (keeping in mind i already have orchestra of bubbles). maybe just two or three for now.

Pretty sure that's not electronic and indeed involving real instruments.

Steve Reich rolls that way.

Some top electronic listed already, I'd add

Boards of Canada - Music Has The Right To Children/Geogaddi
Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album/Selected Ambient Works 85-92
The Field - From Here We Go Sublime

Much love for Apparat too

Caribou's earlier work was definitely more electronic, but it's always been working towards an album like Andorra. Which I am loving this week, might I add.

Dekar, I am going to download that list of yours because your mentions of Booka Shade, The Notwist and Gui.

I have recently fallen in love with Gui Boratto's Chromophobia, and am way fucking excited to witness him play on Saturday :)

Somebody I never met
But in a way I know
Didn`t think that you could get
So much from a picture show
Man dies first reel
People ask what`s the deal?
This ain`t how it`s supposed to be
Don`t like no aborigine!

Aphex twin - all his stuff is good, but most notably Selected ambient works 85-92 and surfing on sine waves (under polygon window alias)

The Orb - Adventures beyond the ultraworld

Boards of Canada - Music has the right to children

Brian Eno - Music for airports and Discreet music

Biosphere - Substrata

Daft Punk - Discovery
