I thought some of you might be interested in this little statistic that I found out yesterday. The Faculty of Business and Law has a 45% drop out rate, which is the highest out of Newcastle University's five Faculties.

LoLz, I don't go to Newcastle, but I'm just interested, more for Business or Law? Or is it even?

I am not sure what the individual degree dropout rates are. Also, the more than just the Business and Law degrees are grouped under this Faculty.

I am not sure, but I think it was over the whole degree, not just for the first year. My Statistics Lecturer mentioned it (typical. He didn't say what the other faculty drop out rates are.

Well I can understand why people drop out of law.. it's completely different to what I expected and I know people who think the same way. Plus, it's kinda hard and tedious..

you should see the failure rates for some of the elec eng subjects eg. 2002 elec1300 fail rate was 60%, 2003 45%, 2004 55%

that is first year intro to elec engineering. i think they were what i was told, i know the first two are correct(ish)

Holy shit that's high I am doing a subject this semester (CIVL2050 - engineering computations and probability) that has a pretty high fail rate, apparantly it's one of the hardest subjects in my degree

Yeah, a friend of mine did that subject last semester and was always saying how hard it was and commenting on the amazing fail rate. He was so shocked to pass. I know someone else who failed.

I did that.. I got a D for history and i still haven't opened the textbook..I'm proud of that one
