Re: The Official A-League Thread.

Sometimes it's a good idea to bring in someone from outside the sport because they will bring in new ideas.
Part of me is just paranoid he'll like run the game into the ground...

Plus, iirc, he was like "lol 'soccer'" when he was NRL boss too.

Re: The Official Football Thread

I'm staying up to watch our first foray in Europe in 6 years.

Needless to say, I'm quite excited.

Re: The Official A-League Thread.

im not sure about this, as gallop is a rugby league man and since weve just failed with an afl guy, he might also lead us into failure. however he has done pretty well in the nrl over his time to shove under the carpet several rapes, match fixing, salary cap fixing, independent reveloution etc and has done a pretty good job

Re: The Official Football Thread

What's the difference? They both worked in the backroom staff at Chelsea back in the day.
so? backroom staff =/= managing

besides i don't rate avb's man management skills even though chelsea's dressing room was a minefield

Both AVB and Rodgers had the first season as PL managers last season.

What is this "Premier League" experience you are referring to?

Re: The Official Football Thread

i hope newcastle fuck up chelsea tonight. also coyb against aston villa
I'm curious to see how the Pardew touchline ban will effect the dynamic of the team. Fortunately, we've got a quality assistant manager in John Carver so I'm hopeful that he can keep the lads going for the match.

I'm thinking Kaka personally. If I recall correctly, he hasn't been doing much lately.
