Ugh, anyone else screw up their graph?

Initially I did a bar graph of both, then I went "OH CRAP, I should have done 2 lines graphs superimposed". So I had to get another sheet thingy and busted out my graph in the last 4 minutes I had left.

It was a bit dodgey with a few wrong dots here and there but I managed to get it done.

I did a bar graph male and female next to eachother (superimposed as described above) and did a key and lablled axes etc.... but i thought 'hey this is a 5 mark Q there must be more to it' so i did a line of best fit too.. ?

5 marks go to:
- labelling axes
- title
- year measurements
- death rate measurements
- graph line

you did a line of best fit as well? how did you do that?

because it was 5 marks..it's probably 3 marks for whether your graph was accurate...1 for doing the right kind of graph..and 1 for labelling the axes..well..that's what i'm guessing anyway..

a mark can't go to the title cause it was already printed on the sheet....everybody will have the title!

^ was it ? i don't remember. but in all the bio tests i've done where we had to draw graphs, 1 mark was always given to writing a title... but yeh if not, then i dunno.

Yeah...title already given. Which is why there is a mark given to either joining the dots or line of best fit. Because of course joining the dots is an important skill and deserves a mark.

Shouldn't it have been a colomn or bar graph? ... A line graph is used to show a relationship between two things (such as enzyme activity and temp) whereas with our graph, the year didn't have any direct affect on the number of deaths.

how exactly do you do a line of best fit with a bar graph? Thats a little... odd...

That graph was so much better than the stupid one in the catholic trial. I screwed that one up something severe.

I think any graph is right as long as you demonstrated that you knew how to put the data on the graph. Alot of people did line graphs like me and a lot also did bar. So I dont think it really matters :p

A line of best is hard to explian without a drawing...
PM me if you REALLY want to know and Ill draw you one and send it to you.

I did a bar/column graph, using black (lead pencil) coloured in column for females and stripy for males.

Wasn't the heading already given though?

I know what a line of best fit is, I just dont get how you can do one in conjunction with a bar graph... and yeah they had the title of the graph printed at the top of it, so hopefully its one mart auto :D or maybe theyre not that nice
